Final Assignment

So for the final assignment we are supposed to create a video blog about the tools that we use and how to use it. If you know me it is easy to understand that my favorite tool to use is Pinterest. I did a short video showing how I use Pinterest using the Jing screencapture- which is also a tool that I learned during class! I think one of the most important things to know about Pinterest is that it isnt' just a site with a TON of pictures. It's sort of a leaping off point for the whole web. I am a completely visual person and I tend to look at things and if the visual peeks my interest then I will delve in deeper. This is probably why I am addicted to Pinterest! I am to find ideas that visually stimulate me then go on from there. I've found wonderful websites and blogs all from Pinterest pictures. It's also important to note that you can share your pinterest photos via facebook or twitter. Pinterest is great because it creates this forum for all these ideas and allows you to create vision boards for all aspects of your classroom and life! Pinterest has become a tool that I love to use and actually find useful for me. It's provided wonderful ideas for my classroom as well as my house. I have used many ideas all ready and look forward to using more that I find! Enjoy the video:

(Sorry that it's a link, I tried to embed it and it wouldn't then I tried to upload to Youtube and it wouldn't so the link is the best I could do!)

  1. So, I actually didn't start using Pinterest until about half way through the semester after hearing you and a few other classmates rave about the site and I will tell you that I love it as well!!! Since I haven't been able to spend too much time on the site, your video actually taught me different ways to look up different "ideas" or categories that I didn't actually knew existed and I've really only used the search box (with really no success) so thanks for the mini-tutorial on Pinterest!!!!

  2. Like Annie mentioned, this is a great video to instruct people how to use Pinterest. I am glad that you found a way to use twitter via pinterest. I love Pinterest and love seeing all that you pin--I actually probably repin a lot of your stuff. ;)

  3. It was fun to see that we all used very different technolgies this semester. Pinterest was one of my weaker tools but through your tutorial I can really see the benefits of it. I use more it more for leisure but I also can see great ways that students can use this tool as well. Perhaps make a class page and each week they need to pin something they find inspiring.
    Overall great project.

  4. It was great to be able to see you talk us through your love of pintrest. I definitely "get it" much better now. It's kind of like symbaloo with the sites brought to you! Now if only I could make the "Grinch classroom management system" work with my adults;)

  5. Hi Christina!
I loved your video! I didn't mention Pinterest in my presentation because I use it for personal reasons, like for my wedding, but I love how you showed us a way to find resources for the classroom! I knew a little bit about Pinterest, but I've never really explored anything beyond repinning things to my board, so thanks for sharing!
